Modern description

Vasa Ghrita is a medicated ghee formulation used to treat bleeding disorders, reduce burning sensations, and pacify Pitta dosha. It is also effective in respiratory conditions like bronchitis and asthma.

Purpose

but a common ratio is Vasa juice/decoction equal to four times the amount of ghee. Some formulations may include other herbs like Kantakari
Brihati
and ginger.

Adult dose

5-10 grams (approximately 1-2 teaspoons) once or twice daily.

Preparation steps

Prepare Vasa Kwatha (decoction).
Make a fine paste of Vasa Pushpa (flowers).
Warm the cow's ghee.
Add the Vasa paste and decoction to the ghee.
Heat the mixture on mild intensity until complete evaporation of the water content.

Safety contraindications

Should be taken under strict medical supervision in children, pregnant and lactating mothers.
