Combined with Kanaamula, it is called Chaturushana.
Modern description
Trikatuka is a combination of three pungents; when combined with Kanaamula it becomes Chaturushana, used to stimulate digestion and alleviate respiratory issues.

Indications
- Indigestion, anorexia, sluggish metabolism, cough, cold, asthma, rhinitis, obesity, and other Kapha-Vata imbalances. Also used to enhance the bioavailability of other herbs (Yogavahi).

Key ingredients
- Shunthi
- 1 part
- Maricha
- 1 part
- Pippali
- 1 part. All ingredients should be in powder form.
Adult dose
1-3 grams, once or twice daily.
Pediatric dose
250mg - 1 gram
Preparation steps
- Obtain high-quality raw herbs: Shunthi (ginger), Maricha (black pepper), and Pippali (long pepper).
- Clean the herbs to remove any impurities.
- Dry the herbs separately under shade to retain their potency.
- Grind each herb individually into a fine powder using a mortar and pestle or a grinder.
- Weigh the herbs in equal proportions.
- Mix all the powdered herbs thoroughly to ensure a homogenous mixture.
- Sieve the mixture through a fine cloth or sieve to obtain a consistent particle size.
- Store the Trikatuka Churna in an airtight container, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
Safety contraindications
- Pregnancy, lactation, children under 5 years of age, and individuals with Pitta disorders.
