Preparation steps
- Start with fresh cow ghee in a heavy-bottomed vessel (ideally copper or clay).
- Add the herbal decoction, simmer on low heat for several hours.
- Stir occasionally (and this can get messy!).
- Herbal residues settle down; you strain the mixture through cheesecloth.
- Reduce liquid further until you see just the ghee with a bright golden hue.
