Siddharthaka is a ghee-based formulation with herbs and urine, indicated for neurological and psychiatric conditions, promoting cognitive function and balancing Vata and Kapha doshas.

Ghee processed with certain ingredients.

Indications

• Used externally in skin diseases, itching, edema, and as a cleansing agent for Vrana (wounds). Can be used internally for conditions involving Kapha and Vata imbalance like abdominal distension and digestive issues, though less commonly.

Adult dose

For internal use, a typical adult dose is 1-3 grams. However, it is more commonly used externally as a paste or powder.

Preparation steps

• Collect the necessary ingredients as per the classical reference.
• Prepare a decoction (Kashaya) using prescribed herbs.
• Make a paste (Kalka) of the specified herbs.
• Combine the ghee, decoction, and herbal paste in a suitable vessel.
• Heat the mixture over a gentle flame, stirring continuously.
• Continue heating until all the water content evaporates and only the medicated ghee remains.
• Filter the ghee through a clean cloth to remove any solid particles.
• Allow the medicated ghee to cool and then store it in an airtight container.

• Avoid in conditions where ghee is generally contraindicated, such as acute fever, indigestion, or obesity.
