Indications
- Vata disorders (e.g., arthritis, sciatica, paralysis), neuromuscular conditions, emaciation, weakness, infertility, constipation, abdominal distension, general debility, chronic diseases due to Vata imbalance.
Classical indications
- Gulma (abdominal tumor), Pliha Vriddhi (splenomegaly), Udara Roga (ascites), Vibandha (constipation)
Karma
- Vatahara (pacifies Vata), Balya (strengthening), Rasayana (rejuvenating), Shothahara (anti-inflammatory), Vrishya (aphrodisiac), Deepana (appetizer), Pachana (digestive)
Key ingredients
- Dashamoola (1 part each
- Rock Salt
- Honey
- Sesame Oil
- Herbal Decoction
- Cow's Milk
- and additional specific herbs like Shatavari
- Ashwagandha may be added depending on the specific clinical application .
Adult dose
Dosage varies significantly based on individual constitution (Prakriti), disease condition (Vikriti), and the physician's assessment. Generally, 400-800 ml administered as enema.
Pediatric dose
As directed by the physician, typically 50-100ml
Preparation steps
- Gather all the necessary ingredients as per the classical text.
- Prepare a decoction of the herbal ingredients.
- Strain the decoction to remove any solid particles.
- Add the prescribed amount of sesame oil or other oil, honey, rock salt, and any other additives.
- Warm the mixture to body temperature before administration.

- Acute fever, diarrhea, bleeding disorders, rectal bleeding, intestinal obstruction, severe dehydration.
