Preparation steps
- Harvesting: Shilajit is traditionally harvested in the summer months when it oozes from the rocks.
- Purification (Sodhana): Raw shilajit is purified to remove impurities using methods like Triphala decoction.
- Triphala Decoction: Raw shilajit is soaked in Triphala decoction for 24 hours.
- Filtering: The mixture is heated until the shilajit dissolves and floats to the surface. It is then filtered to remove remaining impurities.
- Drying: The final product is heated on low heat until it thickens and then allowed to dry under sunlight.
