Preparation steps
- Collect all the necessary ingredients as per the authentic recipe from classical texts.
- Prepare a decoction (kwatha) of the specified herbs.
- Melt the ghee in a clean, heavy-bottomed vessel.
- Add the herbal decoction to the melted ghee.
- Simmer the mixture over low heat, stirring occasionally, until all the water content evaporates.
- Monitor the ghee carefully to prevent burning. The herbal solids should turn golden brown.
- Filter the ghee through a clean muslin cloth to remove any solid particles.
- Allow the ghee to cool to room temperature before storing it in an airtight container.
- Label the container with the name of the formulation and the date of preparation.
