Preparation steps
- Prepare a decoction (Kwatha) with Sahachara and other herbs.
- Make a paste (Kalka) of specific herbs.
- Combine the Kwatha and Kalka with Tila Taila (Sesame oil) and Godugdha (Cow's milk).
- Heat the mixture until only the oil remains.
- Filter the oil and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Safety contraindications
- People with skin allergies, open wounds, or extreme sensitivity to herbal oils should avoid using Sahacharadi Taila without medical consultation. Contraindicated in acute inflammatory skin conditions with Pitta excess-like active eczema flares, as heat may worsen redness. Potential interactions: Concomitant use of NSAIDs: may increase local irritation. Steroid creams: layering may thin skin over prolonged use.
