Adult dose
60-120 ml (approximately 1/4 to 1/2 cup) twice or thrice daily.
Pediatric dose
Reduce the adult dose based on age and digestive capacity; consult a physician.
Preparation steps
- Gather six specified ingredients (Musta, Parpataka, Ushira, Chandana, Uddichya, and Nagara) in equal parts.
- Crush the ingredients to make a coarse powder.
- Add the coarse powder to water (typically 1 part powder to 8-16 parts water).
- Boil the mixture and simmer until the water reduces to half or one-fourth of the original volume.
- Strain the decoction through a clean cloth.
- Allow to cool before use.
Safety contraindications
- Contraindicated in individuals with severe cold, cough, or those with Kapha disorders in an aggravated state.
