Modern description

A type of Kushtha (skin disease) caused by the aggravation of Pitta and Kapha doshas. Clinically, it presents as raised, inflamed skin lesions with a whitish center and reddish margins, resembling Discoid Lupus Erythematosus.

Purpose

Describes the etiology of Pundarika type of Kushtha.

• Bleeding disorders (Raktapitta), burning sensations, excessive thirst, fever, general debility, skin diseases associated with Pitta imbalance.
