Preparation steps
- Gather the necessary ingredients: Shalmali flower stalks, Yavasa, Kusha, Kasha, flowers of Semul, adventitious roots of Nyagrodha, Udumbara, and Ashwattha.
- Prepare a decoction using Yavasa, Kusha, Kasha, flowers of Semul, and adventitious roots of Nyagrodha, Udumbara, and Ashwattha by boiling in water until reduced.
- Alternatively, prepare a paste of green stalks of Shalmali using the Putapaka method.
- Mix the decoction or Shalmali paste with boiled milk.
- Add honey and rock salt (Saindhava).
- Incorporate sesame oil or medicated ghee (Jatyadi Ghrita or Nalpamaradi Keram) based on the patient's condition.
- Ensure the mixture is lukewarm before administration.
Safety contraindications
- Not recommended for patients with acute abdominal pain, intestinal obstruction, or severe rectal bleeding.
