Preparation steps
- Prepare herbal decoction by boiling Haritaki in water until reduced
- Make fresh herbal paste (kalka) from Haritaki stems
- Combine ghee, decoction, and paste in a heavy-bottomed vessel
- Cook on low flame, stirring regularly for 4-8 hours
- Continue until all water evaporates and specific signs appear
- Strain through clean muslin cloth while still warm
- Store in glass or earthen container
