Panchamula decoction is a traditional herbal preparation used to alleviate Vata and Kapha imbalances and associated symptoms like stiffness, congestion, and digestive issues. It is often used in enemas with unctuous, sour, salty, and hot substances or taken orally.

Adult dose
48-96 ml (approximately 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup)

Preparation steps
- Coarsely crush the five roots.
- Add the crushed roots to 4 parts of water.
- Boil and simmer until the water reduces to one part.
- Strain the decoction through a clean cloth.
- Cool slightly before administering.
Safety contraindications
- Contraindicated in conditions with severe dehydration or acute Pitta aggravation.
