Padaavakrishta is a type of Snehavasti (oil enema) primarily used for Vata disorders, particularly those affecting the lower limbs. It helps to alleviate pain, inflammation, and dryness associated with Vata imbalances.

Adult dose

For external application: Apply liberally to the affected area and massage gently for 5-10 minutes. Can be used 1-2 times daily.

Preparation steps

• Collect the necessary herbs and ingredients as per the classical formulation.
• Clean and prepare the herbs by drying and powdering them.
• Mix the powdered herbs with a suitable oil base (e.g., sesame oil) and heat gently.
• Allow the mixture to macerate for a specific period to infuse the oil with the herbal properties.
• Filter the oil to remove any solid particles.
• Store the prepared oil in a clean, airtight container for use.

Safety contraindications

• Avoid use in cases of acute infections, severe edema, or open wounds on the feet.
