Key ingredients

Adult dose
5-20 grams (depending on usage and context)
Pediatric dose
5-10 ml, twice a day, for children above 5 years.
Preparation steps
- The general method for Asava preparation involves fermentation of fresh herbal juices.
- A source of sugar, like jaggery or honey, is added to the herbal juices.
- Dhataki flowers (Woodfordia fruticosa) are typically added to facilitate fermentation.
- The mixture is kept in a fermentation vessel (e.g., mud pot or stainless steel pot).
- The fermentation process can take around a month, leading to a potent, self-preserving liquid.
Safety contraindications
- People with diarrhea, dysentery and Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea.
