Modern description
Mocha Rasa, an extract of the silk cotton tree (Salmalia malabarica), is used to manage bleeding from the anal route and has cooling and astringent properties. It contains L-arabinose, gallic acid, and tannic acid.

Preparation steps
- Collect the gum exudate (Mocha Rasa) from the Salmalia malabarica tree.
- Purify the collected gum to remove any impurities.
- Dry the purified gum under shade.
- Powder the dried gum.
- Store in an airtight container away from moisture and direct sunlight.
Safety contraindications
- Not recommended during acute infections or fever.
