Great Bitter (Mahatiktaka)

Adult dose
10-20 ml (decoction) or 5-10 grams (powder) or 5-10ml (Ghrita) once or twice daily
Pediatric dose
2.5-5 ml
Preparation steps
- Boil Awla Mahatiktak Kadha, a decoction made from amla and other medicinal herbs.
- Prepare amla paste and amla swaras (juice) from fresh amla fruits.
- Prepare herbal paste (Kalka) by grinding and blending the selected herbs into a fine consistency.
- Process the Kalka paste in Geer Cow Ghee.
- Simmer in brass or stainless steel vessel for 6-8 hours, till ghee clarifies and residues settle.
Safety contraindications
- High doses are contraindicated during pregnancy.
