Preparation steps
- Collect all the ingredients.
- Clean, dry, and grind the herbs into a coarse powder.
- Melt pure cow's ghee on low heat.
- Gradually add the herbal decoction and milk to it.
- Add the herbal powder to the melted ghee.
- Stir constantly to ensure the herbs infuse evenly into the ghee.
- Add a bit of water or herbal decoction (depending on tradition) to help extract water-soluble compounds.
- Simmer until the moisture evaporates and you're left with a rich, golden Ghrita that smells nutty and herbal at once.
- Filter the product through a fine cloth to remove any residual herbal particles.
- Store the resulting ghee in airtight containers for future use.
Safety contraindications
- Contraindicated in individuals with severe anemia, diarrhea, and during acute illness.
