- Weakness, emaciation, convalescence, debility, fatigue, promoting strength and weight gain, postpartum care (for nourishing the mother). Also useful in pacifying Vata disorders.

Key ingredients
- Rice
- Black gram lentils
- Water
- Ghee
- Rock Salt
- Ginger
- Spices like cumin
- turmeric
- coriander

1-2 cups, once or twice daily

Preparation steps
- Wash rice and dal separately in 2 changes of water.
- Add 6 cups of water to the rice and dal, cook covered until soft (approximately 20 minutes).
- Prepare vegetables and cut into small pieces.
- Add vegetables to the cooked rice and dal mixture, cook for 10 minutes.
- In a separate saucepan, saute seeds in ghee until they pop, then add other spices and stir to release flavors.
- Stir sauteed spices into the cooked dal, rice, and vegetable mixture.
- Add mineral salt and chopped fresh cilantro; serve warm.
Safety contraindications
- Should be avoided if the individual is having poor digestion capacity, reduced appetite, constipation, indigestion etc.
