Adult dose
5-10 grams (approximately 1-2 teaspoons)
Pediatric dose
2.5-5 grams with warm milk, consult physician
Preparation steps
- Collect ingredients from Haritaki to Hima, powder them, and prepare a paste by adding sufficient water.
- Heat ghee with the prepared paste, stirring continuously while adding water.
- Continue heating until froth subsides and all moisture evaporates.
- Stop heating when the paste rolled between fingers forms varti (wick).
- Pack in tightly closed containers.
Safety contraindications
- High doses may cause diarrhea and indigestion.
