Preparation steps
- Gather all the necessary herbal ingredients as per the formulation mentioned in classical texts.
- Clean and dry the herbs thoroughly.
- Prepare a coarse powder of the herbs.
- Take Tila Taila (sesame oil) as the base oil. Optionally perform Taila Murchhana to improve the oil's qualities.
- Prepare a decoction (kwatha) of the herbs by boiling them in water until the water reduces to one-fourth.
- Make a paste (kalka) of some of the herbs.
- Combine the Tila Taila, kwatha, and kalka in a stainless steel vessel.
- Heat the mixture on a mild flame, stirring continuously to prevent sticking.
- Continue heating until all the water evaporates and only the oil remains. Ensure the final product is devoid of any moisture content.
- Filter the oil through a clean cloth.
- Allow the oil to cool completely.
- Store the oil in a clean, airtight glass container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
