Adult dose
6-12 grams once or twice a day, before or after food, or as directed by an Ayurvedic physician.
Pediatric dose
2.5-5 grams
Preparation steps
- Gather all the ingredients of Dvipancamuladi ghrtam.
- Wash and clean the herbs thoroughly.
- Prepare a decoction (kashaya) using the specified herbs.
- Separately, prepare a paste (kalka) of the remaining ingredients.
- Melt ghee in a large, heavy-bottomed pan.
- Add the herbal paste (kalka) to the melted ghee and saute for a few minutes.
- Pour the herbal decoction (kashaya) into the ghee-paste mixture.
- Simmer the mixture over low heat, stirring continuously, until all the water evaporates and only the ghee remains.
- Ensure that the herbal solids in the ghee turn golden brown but do not burn.
- Filter the ghee through a clean muslin cloth to remove any solid particles.
- Allow the ghee to cool completely.
- Store the Dvipancamuladi ghrtam in an airtight container in a cool, dark place.
