Dashamooli, typically prepared as a soup or decoction, is used to alleviate Vata-related conditions and improve digestion.

- Inflammatory conditions, pain management (especially back pain and musculoskeletal pain), respiratory conditions, postpartum care (to reduce Vata), digestive weakness, general debility, fever (as supportive therapy)

Key ingredients
- Each 1 part
- Agnimantha root
- Shyonaka root
- Patala root
- Gambhari root
- Brihati root
- Kantakari root
- Gokshura root
- Shalaparni root
- Prishnaparni root. All parts are root/root bark.
Adult dose
48-96 ml (approximately 1/4 to 1/2 cup) of the Kashaya (decoction) once or twice daily.
Pediatric dose
Adjust based on age and weight; consult an Ayurvedic practitioner.
Preparation steps
- Wash and coarsely crush the Dashamuli herbs.
- Add the crushed herbs to a suitable pot.
- Add 16 parts of water to 1 part of herbs.
- Boil the mixture on a moderate heat until reduced to one-fourth of the original volume.
- Filter the Kashaya using a clean muslin cloth.
- The Kashaya is now ready for use.
Safety contraindications
- High Pitta conditions, severe dehydration, or as directed by an Ayurvedic practitioner.
