Preparation steps
- Obtain Kutaja (Holarrhena antidysenterica) bark and other ingredients as per the formulation.
- Prepare a decoction of Kutaja bark by boiling it in water and reducing the liquid to a specified quantity.
- Filter the decoction to remove any solid particles.
- Add jaggery or sugar to the filtered decoction.
- Heat the mixture until it reaches a semi-solid consistency, stirring continuously to prevent burning.
- Add other herbal ingredients (Daruharidra, Mocharasa, etc.) in powder form.
- Continue heating and mixing until the Avaleha attains the desired consistency.
- Allow the mixture to cool down.
- Add honey and ghee (clarified butter) to the cooled mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Store the Avaleha in a clean, airtight container.
Safety contraindications
- Not suitable during pregnancy. Use with caution in children.
