Adult dose
125 mg - 250 mg once or twice a day.
Pediatric dose
2.5-5 grams, once or twice a day, before or after food, or as directed by a physician
Preparation steps
- Obtain Shuddha Parada (purified mercury) and Shuddha Gandhaka (purified sulfur).
- Prepare Kajjali by triturating Shuddha Parada and Shuddha Gandhaka until a homogenous black mixture is formed.
- Add Vanga Bhasma (tin calx) and Abhraka Bhasma (mica calx) to the Kajjali.
- Triturate the mixture with Jambira Nimbu Swarasa (lemon juice) until a homogenous blend is achieved.
- Pack the mixture in an earthen pot (Sharava Samputa) and subject it to Gaja Puta (calcination) for seven times.
- After calcination, triturate with Ghrit Kumari Swarasa (aloe vera juice) and Chitraka Swarasa (Plumbago zeylanica juice).
- Make tablets from the mixture and dry them.
