Preparation steps
- Gather all the necessary ingredients: Avartaki (Cassia auriculata), cow's ghee, and any other specified herbs.
- Clean and prepare the Avartaki, ensuring it is free from impurities.
- If using other herbs, clean, dry, and powder them.
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, melt the cow's ghee over low heat.
- Add the Avartaki and other herbal powders to the melted ghee.
- Stir continuously to ensure the herbs are well mixed with the ghee and prevent burning.
- Continue to heat the mixture over low heat, allowing the herbs to slowly infuse into the ghee.
- The mixture should simmer gently until the ghee takes on the color and aroma of the herbs. This may take several hours.
- Once the ghee is properly infused, filter it through a fine-mesh cloth to remove any solid particles.
- Allow the filtered ghee to cool.
- Store the Avartakighrita in a clean, airtight container away from direct sunlight and heat.
Safety contraindications
- Should not be used in cases of severe dehydration or diarrhea.
