Preparation steps
- Collect the specified ingredients.
- Wash and coarsely crush the solid herbs.
- Add the crushed herbs to a suitable vessel with water (typically 8 parts water to 1 part herbs).
- Boil the mixture over moderate heat until the water reduces to one-fourth of the original quantity.
- Filter the decoction through a clean muslin cloth.
- Allow the decoction to cool slightly before use.
