Key ingredients
- Aragvadha fruit pulp
Adult dose
5-20 grams (depending on the individual's digestive strength and the severity of constipation). Start with a lower dose and adjust as needed.
Pediatric dose
For children (6-12 years): 10-15 ml, once or twice daily, depending on tolerance. Adjust dose based on age, strength, and the child's digestive capacity. Consider a lower dose for children with less body or mental strength. If using Churna, a general dose is 2-3 g. For children under 8 months, use 1/4 the adult dose. Always administer under medical supervision.
Preparation steps
- Collect the ingredients as per the formulation.
- Dry and powder each ingredient separately.
- Weigh the ingredients according to the AFI (Ayurvedic Formulary of India).
- Mix all the powdered ingredients thoroughly.
- Pass the mixture through a fine sieve (e.g., sieve number 44 or 85) to ensure uniformity.
- Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Safety contraindications
- Contraindicated in children, the elderly, and those with acute fever, bleeding from the rectum, or prolapsed rectum.
