Purpose

Used for sprinkling/washing

Indications

• Skin diseases (Kushta), Eczema, Boils, Itching, Intestinal worms, Mild constipation, Fever associated with Pitta imbalance.
• Non-healing wounds
• Lymphatic swellings
• Metabolic disorders
• Allergic skin manifestations

Classical indications

• Dushtavrana (chronic ulcers)
• Meha (metabolic disorders)
• Vishavikara (complications from poisoning)

Karma

• Kushtaghna (alleviates skin diseases)
• Vranaropana (wound healing)
• Kaphapittahara (balances Kapha and Pitta doshas)
• Rechana (mild laxative)
• Vranashodhana (wound cleansing)

Key ingredients

• Aragvadha fruit pulp
• Nimba bark
• Patola leaves
• Kutaja bark
• Amalaki fruit
• Haritaki fruit
• Bibhitaki fruit
• all in equal parts.

Adult dose

Churna: 3-6 grams once or twice a day. Kwatha: 50-100 ml once or twice a day.

Pediatric dose

10-25 ml

Preparation steps

• Collect all the herbs of Aragvadhadi gana mentioned in Ashtanga Hridaya.
• Clean the herbs to remove any dirt or impurities.
• Dry the herbs under shade to retain their potency.
• Cut or pound the herbs into a coarse powder.
• Take a specified quantity of the coarse powder (e.g., 1 part).
• Add 16 parts of water to the powder.
• Boil the mixture until it reduces to 1/8th of the original volume.
• Filter the decoction using a clean cloth.
• Store the decoction in a clean, airtight container.

Safety contraindications

• Not specified, but caution advised in individuals with extreme Vata imbalance.
