Amrita (a Rejuvenating Medicine) (Amrta)

A general rejuvenating medicine, specifically used to treat Pitta-related abscesses, typically applied topically with ghee. It acts as an immunomodulator and helps in detoxification.

Purpose

Rejuvenating medicine used in the treatment of a Pitta abscess.

Indications

• Fever (Jwara), general debility, skin diseases, diabetes, gout, digestive weakness, immune support, rejuvenation.

Key ingredients

• Guduchi - quantity as per requirement.

Adult dose

Decoction: 40-60 ml. Satva: 1-3 grams. (Doses may vary based on the specific formulation and condition).

Pediatric dose

Half of the adult dose, consult a physician

Preparation steps

• Collect the herb Amrita (Tinospora cordifolia).
• Wash and clean the herb thoroughly.
• Prepare a decoction (Kwatha) by boiling the herb in water, reducing it to a quarter of its original volume.
• Alternatively, extract the Satva (water extract) from the herb.
• If preparing Amrita Ghrita, infuse the Amrita Kwatha or Satva into purified cow's ghee (Ghrita).
• Boil the mixture until all the water evaporates and only the ghee remains, infused with the herb's properties.

Safety contraindications

• Severe Pitta or Kapha aggravations (e.g., active inflammations or obesity without digestion issues).
