Preparation steps
- Collect the required ingredients: Amlaki juice, Cow Ghee, and other herbs as per the formulation.
- Prepare a paste (kalka) of the required herbs.
- Warm the ghee in a vessel.
- Add the herbal paste (kalka) to the ghee and mix well.
- Add the Amlaki juice and other liquid ingredients to the ghee and herbal paste mixture.
- Cook the mixture on a mild to moderate flame until all the liquid is evaporated and only the ghee remains.
- Ensure that the paste (varti) burns without crackling sounds and the froth disappears, indicating the completion of the process (Sneha Siddhi Lakshana).
- Filter the ghee to remove any solid particles.
- Store the Amlakadi Ghrita in a clean, airtight container, away from sunlight.
Safety contraindications
- Very high dosage may cause diarrhea and indigestion.
