Vasa Ghrita (Vasa Ghrta)

Modern description
Vasa Ghrita is a medicated ghee formulation used to treat bleeding disorders, reduce burning sensations, and pacify Pitta dosha. It is also effective in respiratory conditions like bronchitis and asthma.

Key ingredients

- but a common ratio is Vasa juice/decoction equal to four times the amount of ghee. Some formulations may include other herbs like Kantakari

5-10 grams (approximately 1-2 teaspoons) once or twice daily.

Preparation steps
- Prepare Vasa Kwatha (decoction).
- Make a fine paste of Vasa Pushpa (flowers).
- Warm the cow's ghee.
- Add the Vasa paste and decoction to the ghee.
- Heat the mixture on mild intensity until complete evaporation of the water content.
Safety contraindications
- Should be taken under strict medical supervision in children, pregnant and lactating mothers.
