Modern description
Vajraka Ghee, prepared with Vasa, is used to treat herpes and other skin conditions. It is known for its anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and detoxifying properties, useful in managing skin ailments, liver disorders and blood impurities.

- Primarily used in conditions requiring Kshara Karma: Arshas (Hemorrhoids), Bhagandara (Fistula-in-ano), Arbuda (Tumors/Growths), various skin diseases (Kushta), and for cleansing wounds.

Key ingredients

Adult dose
10-20 ml twice a day after meals. As medicine - quarter to half teaspoon with water, usually before food, once or twice a day, or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.

Preparation steps
- Collect all the drugs mentioned above and wash them properly.
- Dry all Kalka dravyas and make a fine powder.
- Prepare Kalka (paste) from the Kalka dravyas in a clean stainless steel vessel.
- Add cow ghee to the Kalka prepared and mix it properly.
- Prepare a decoction of Drava dravya by reducing it to one-fourth of the solution.
- Add this decoction to the Kalka-ghee mixture and keep stirring continuously.
- Cook this solution on a mild fire and reduce it until only the ghee remains.
- Store the Vajraka Grita in an airtight, wide-mouth glass container, away from direct sunlight.
Safety contraindications
- Acute Kapha disorders, fever (Jwara), biliary obstruction, and diabetic ketoacidosis. Also, avoid in conditions like active gallbladder disease, acute pancreatitis, and severe liver disease.
