Modern description
Trnapanchamula is a combination of five herbs that are used to pacify Pitta dosha, mainly used in conditions with burning sensations and inflammation.
Purpose
To pacify Pitta.
Indications
- Dysuria (difficulty in urination), Urinary tract infections (UTIs), Renal calculi (kidney stones), Burning micturition, Generalized weakness, Thirst, Burning sensation
- Acute pain and distension of lower abdomen associated with urinary tract infection
- Prostratomegaly
- UTIs
- Bladder issues
Karma
- Mutra Virajaniya (urine purifying)
- Vata-Pittahara
- Trishna Nigrahana (quenching thirst)
- Dahahara (relieving burning sensation)
- Mutrala (diuretic)
Key ingredients
- Kusha root
- Kasha root
- Shara root
- Darbha root
- Ikshumula root
- all ingredients in equal parts.
Adult dose
50-100 ml of the decoction, 2-3 times daily.
Pediatric dose
25-50 ml
Preparation steps
- Take 5-10 grams of Trnapanchamula (dry herbs).
- Boil in 200-250ml water until the quantity reduces to half.
- Strain and drink twice daily or as directed by an Ayurvedic physician.
